Twin Hickory Elementary School, located in the Three Chopt District, was named for its local community. Twin Hickory celebrated 15 years of teaching in 2015.

Twin Hickory is the recipient of the Virginia Naturally Award.

Twin Hickory has received the 2012 Board of Education’s Excellence Award:

Only 188 schools in Virginia achieved this distinct honor.  Twin Hickory met all State and Federal accountability benchmarks for at least two consecutive years and have made significant progress towards goals for increased student achievement and expanded educational opportunities set by the board to receive this honor.

Twin Hickory was named a Blue Ribbon School for 2014-2015 School Year

DAILY SCHEDULE:

THES Bell and Arrival/Dismissal Schedule

Morning Arrival

7:50 – 8:10 – Students arrive and report to classrooms

8:05 Bell: Warning

8:10 Bell: Tardy


Afternoon Dismissal

2:35 – KG and 1st Grade Safety Patrols are dismissed to duty

2:40 Bell: KG and 1st Grade ONLY students report to Bus, Day Care, YMCA,  and Car Loop

2:45 Bell: 2nd – 5th Grade student report to Bus, Day Care, YMCA, and Car Loop

 

*KG and 1st grade walkers leave classrooms with the safety patrol to line up at the end of the 1st grade hallway or KG hallway depending on which side of Twin Hickory Lake Drive they live on for safety purposes. Students are then escorted out the door to be partnered up with their parents. Use the key below for the correct pick-up locations.

KG Door (Front of School) = Any KG-5th Grader Who Lives on the Opposite side of Twin Hickory Lake Drive exits through this door.

1st Grade Door (Back of School) = Any KG – 2nd Grader Who Lives on the School side of Twin Hickory Lake Drive exits through this door

3rd Grade Door (Back of School) = Any 3rd – 5th Grader Who Lives on the School side of Twin Hickory Lake Drive exits through this door
